U.S. Attorney General Admits Marijuana Is Not a Gateway drug.

For those of us who grew up in the 90’s and participated in the drug awareness program, D.A.R.E. – Drug Abuse Resistance Education, we were taught that marijuana was a gateway drug to harder drugs such as, cocaine and heroin.

Now the U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is saying that marijuana is not a gateway drug but prescription drugs are the reason we have such a big problem with opioid addiction in our country. News coming out of Nevada tells that for some people, the information comes a little too late to affect the choices that were made during adolescence.

High school students in Nevada recently sat down to listen to Lynch speak during Prescription Opioid Heroin Epidemic Awareness Week. Lynch said “In so many cases, it isn’t trafficking rings that introduce a person to opioids. It’s the household medicine cabinet. That’s the source,” as reported by International Business Times. Abuse of hard drugs doesn’t always stem from prescriptions drugs though, simply being open to trying new drugs makes you susceptible to being exposed to harder drugs. That’s where the stigma about marijuana came from, as it’s arguably the “safest” and most accessible drug so most tend to turn towards it in their earlier years

At some point, you have to take responsibility for your own actions and realize that maybe that one group of friends that you hang out with on the weekend who are always getting into trouble might not be the best people to surround yourself with. Never forget that you have the power to control your own actions.

We appreciate U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch for speaking in Las Vegas, Nevada and clearing things up for our youth about marijuana. With the media covering medical marijuana so much recently and it becoming a more important issue on politicians agendas, it is important to have someone speak up about the truth of marijuana. All kinds of vices can lead you astray from who you really want to be, the important things to remember are: you are the only one in control of your actions and never be afraid to be yourself.

More and more individuals just like the attorney general are learning the truth about marijuana and bringing it to the publics attention. We must still remember that not all marijuana and marijuana products are grown and handled equally. We must strive to fight for pesticide free, organic cannabis with seed to sale origins. W Vapes products are all 100% pure organic, safe cannabis.
